Overview

Connecting drones to third-party cloud platforms is mainly achieved by developing a custom app based on MSDK, then defining a private communication protocol to connect to the cloud platform. For developers, this approach involves a significant workload, high costs, and requires considerable effort in adapting drone functionality interfaces.

The Cloud API primarily addresses the challenge of developers having to reinvent the wheel. For developers who don't need in-depth app customization, the Cloud API allows direct communication with the cloud platform, enabling them to focus more on developing and implementing cloud business interfaces.

Core Philosophy

The Cloud API uses industry-standard MQTT, HTTPS, and WebSocket protocols, abstracting drone capabilities into a device model similar to IoT devices. This allows developers to easily conduct business development based on this model without worrying about the complex flight control issues of the drone itself.

The Cloud API is built into Autel drones, Autel Remote Controllers, and Autel drone Nests, allowing developers to connect drones to the cloud platform without redeveloping an app.
